Job DescriptionBatteries Plus Bulbs is hiring an Instructional Designer to join our organizational retail training team . In t his role, you assist in the creating of online learning programs and classroom based trainings. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience developing training materials including webinars, videos, instructor lead training, experience with learning management systems, and classroom training. Additionally, this person will be a self-starter and be able to act as a project champion as we continue to grow. This position is located at our corporate office in Hartland, WI.

The Instructional Designer will:
Supports company training initiatives by providing internal consulting services to determine the best way to support organizational change and learning. Responsible for constant improvement and development of existing programs based on new learning or technology.
Essential responsibilities (other duties as assigned)
Interpret content objectives, and instructional content to ensure learning. Use sound ID theory to create and provide on-going maintenance of webinars, job aids, ILT, videos, interactive CT, reinforcement communication/micro learning. Initiate new material and/or modify existing materials to develop curriculum for various product, operations and/or technical training Generate and manipulate graphic images, animations, sound, text and video into consolidated learning programs Design and implement train-the-trainer programs for internal and external populations. Facilitates and supports on-boarding process and programs for internal and field teams Create and deliver tests. Track and validate scores. Evaluate results and provide analysis of quality and effectiveness of online courses Measure and evaluate training programs materials and documents to help determine fulfillment of learner needs, usefulness of content, and ROI
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support, assess existing projects and programs.
- Project manages training design process including change requests. Manage a revision cycle to update training
- Create and manages a learning dashboard. Provide regular reporting to leadership.
- Manage vendor relationships
Maintains full ownership of LMS including maintenance, recommending and implementing current/modern functionality changes such as mobile learning and social learning functions Provides customer service support to LMS users Assist with coordination and design of classroom training and blended learning as needed Facilitate webinars and instructor led training programs on an "as needed" basis Assist with preparation of learning materials
Bachelor's degree in Adult Education or Instructional design. Strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning, and learning styles principles and theories Minimum 3 years of experience developing training materials or coursework, and the creation of CBT courses, blended learning, and traditional ILT Ability to work autonomously, and in a team environment and cross functionally between departments and with all levels of the organization. Ability to take ownership of a project and lead a project team to desired results; project management experience desirable Must be an independent problem solver. Must demonstrate innovative ideas and initiate new ideas to solve current learning needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate concrete and abstract ideas; be persuasive and work collaboratively to get projects completed. Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Articulate Storyline 360. Must be able to demonstrate ability to adjust timelines, create interactions, use variables, modify audio, and adjust video clips. Proficiency in instructional design technologies is a must. Camtasia, Articulate, GoAnimate, and PhotoShop software applications are preferred. Knowledge of video software strongly preferred. Proficiency in MS Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook. Basic understanding of HTML Working knowledge of LMS, including creation and administration of courses, offerings and reports. Must be familiar with SCORM model Well organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines with multiple tasks and projects in a fast paced, changing environment Ability to rapidly shift priorities to the needs of the business Ability to accurately and clearly present new information and prepare and present presentations in both a one-on-one and small group setting
