Job Description

Summary

A strong knowledge of digital marketing with an understanding of social media (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other applications), how it evolves and changes, and how it can help marketing efforts.

Essential Functions

Maintain and improve the organization’s search engine rankings through use of proper search engine optimization techniques, maintain the organization’s Google Grant ad account and communicate as the singular social media voice of the organization. Must be able to use all digital media vehicles as marketing tools.

Create original content for all social media avenues, take photos and video at agency-wide events for promotional materials, create concepts for, organize, update and maintain the agency website daily, prepare weekly e-blasts using Constant Contact, maintain the agency’s internal signage systems, write monthly articles for community newspaper.

Use creativity to develop, refresh content and design pages to keep the organization in the public eye on social media.

Work as a part of the core Communications Department team to keep content consistent, accurate, branded, and up-to-date while developing digital content for various departments.

Track and understand statistics, data and web analytics reports and use them to establish a clear strategic direction.

Support internal departments via social media advertising campaigns.

Education and/or Experience

High school graduate; college degree preferred

Language Skills

Exceptional written skills. Ability to compose correspondence. Ability to use proper grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Other Skills and Abilities

Strong communication skills in writing and verbally. Advanced computer literacy with emphasis on social media and web-based applications. Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. Attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently. High degree of maturity, adaptability and initiative. Knowledge of search engine optimization techniques and basic HTML. Knowledge of and experience working with WordPress-based websites. Previous experience with WordPress add-ons such as Yoast SEO, Visual Composer and Ninja Forms preferred. Basic working knowledge of graphic software: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Word. Strong photography and video skills. Strong social media skills are critical.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision.

Work Environment

The working conditions are primarily a general office setting. The noise level is usually quiet.
